Affordable Housing Team

  • Frank McGough

    Frank McGough is an Associate of the Sunbelt Multifamily Advisory Group. Frank is the Affordable Housing Lead across the Sunbelt, responsible for advising and providing clients with insight into the intricacies that surround the Affordable Housing sector. His extensive knowledge and experience in Section 42 Housing (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) and government-subsidized rental programs is utilized across the 15 state platform. Frank acknowledges the shortage in affordable housing across the country, his role in providing oversight and finding the highest and best use for each client ranges from GP/LP Buyout transactions, 4% & 9% LIHTC syndications, USDA Rural Development, & Project-Based Rental Assistance programs.

    Prior to C&W, Frank worked for an affordable housing developer coordinating HUD, FHLMC (Freddie Mac) and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit transactions as liaison between attorneys, lenders and equity providers ensuring smooth and timely execution of project due diligence, documentation, and disclosure from the pre-development phase through closing and project stabilization. Since joining C&W as a Financial Analyst, Frank has transitioned into expanding the affordable housing platform across the Sunbelt. He holds a BA from the University of Alabama and resides in Birmingham, AL.

  • Nathan Swenson

    Nathan Swenson joined the Cushman & Wakefield Multifamily Advisory Group in 1999. Serving as an Executive Director, he has been involved in more than 300 transactions, representing over 60,000 units and over $6.5 billion in sales volume. Licensed in five states, Nathan has played a significant role in expanding the team’s regional platform with key transactions in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, and the Carolinas. He has been instrumental in building the Sunbelt team volume to over $20 billion.

    Nathan previously worked for the Affordable Housing Disposition Group, where he focused on feasibility studies and acquisition of workforce housing, with focus on LIHTC and Section 8 programs. Nathan has been named a CoStar Power Broker since 2009. He graduated from Emory University with BAs in Philosophy and Religion.

  • Hunter Bowling

    Hunter Bowling is a Senior Director in the Sunbelt Multifamily Advisory Group. His responsibilities include overseeing the firm’s multifamily brokerage activities out of the Raleigh-Durham office. In this role, his coverage spans all of NC with a specific focus on Central and Eastern North Carolina. Since 2018, Hunter has been directly involved in the sale of over 50,000 units and an aggregate value in excess of $5 billion in the Carolinas.

    Hunter has been with Cushman & Wakefield since 2017. Prior to joining the Multifamily Advisory Group, Hunter was a member of the Land Practice Group in the Raleigh office. Hunter holds a BA and Minor in Economics from North Carolina State University.

  • Claire Tucker

    Claire Tucker Transaction Coordinator

    Claire Tucker is a Transaction Coordinator with the Sunbelt Multifamily Advisory Group in the Birmingham office. She leads the firm’s Transaction Coordination activities throughout Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Northwest Florida, and Oklahoma. Recognized as one of the only brokerage firms to offer specialized Transaction Management care throughout the Due Diligence & Closing process, Claire provides our clients with a full-service, white glove experience.

    Since joining the team in 2024, Claire has supported the Gulf States & Central States Teams in selling multifamily properties across the regions. Claire holds a BA in Politics and International Affairs and English from Wake Forest University.
